1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to liquor; authorizing commissioner of public safety to issue a license
1.3for wine festivals;amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 340A.404, by
1.4adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 340A.404, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8    Subd. 5a. Wine festival. The commissioner may issue a temporary license to
1.9an association of owners and operators of wineries located within the state sponsoring
1.10an annual festival to showcase Minnesota-produced wines. The license issued under
1.11this subdivision authorizes the sale of table, sparkling, or fortified wines produced by
1.12Minnesota wineries at on-sale by the glass, or off-sale by the bottle, and the dispensing of
1.13free samples of the wines offered for sale within designated premises of the festival. A
1.14license issued under this subdivision is subject to all laws and ordinances governing the
1.15sale, possession, and consumption of table, sparkling, or fortified wines.
