1.2relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a new James Ford
1.3Bell Natural History Museum and Planetarium on the St. Paul campus of the
1.4University of Minnesota; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. JAMES FORD BELL NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM AND
1.7PLANETARIUM, ST. PAUL.
1.8 Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $51,500,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.9fund to the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota to complete the design of
1.10and to construct, furnish, and equip a new James Ford Bell Natural History Museum
1.11and Planetarium on the St. Paul campus. This appropriation is intended to cover the
1.12entire project cost.
1.13 Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the
1.14bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.15bonds of the state in an amount up to $51,500,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.16the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.17Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.18EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
