1.2relating to capital improvements; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds;
1.3appropriating money for sanitary sewer and water improvements in Northome.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. SANITARY SEWER AND WATER INFRASTRUCTURE;
1.6NORTHOME.
1.7 Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $1,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.8fund to the Public Facilities Authority for a grant to the city of Northome for predesign,
1.9design, and construction to replace the aging and failing sanitary sewer and water system
1.10in Northome. This appropriation may be used for replacement of lift stations, force main,
1.11water storage tank, manhole covers, and sanitary sewer infrastructure. This appropriation
1.12is not available until the commissioner of management and budget has determined that at
1.13least an equal amount has been secured from nonstate sources.
1.14 Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in subdivision 1 from
1.15the bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and
1.16issue bonds of the state in an amount up to $1,000,000, in the manner, upon the terms,
1.17and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and
1.18by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.19EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
