1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. CAPITOL STRUCTURAL RISK, PRESERVATION ASSESSMENT.
1.6$300,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
1.7administration for the biennium ending June 30, 2013, to do an exterior and interior
1.8structural risk assessment of the preservation needs of the State Capitol historic site. The
1.9analysis must include an examination of what would be needed to reopen the balcony
1.10viewing area on the second floor overlooking the Capitol grounds. By December 15,
1.112011, the commissioner must provide a prioritized list of restoration projects with rough
1.12cost estimates to the governor, the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board, and
1.13the chairs of the legislative committees with responsibility for those agencies and capital
1.14investment.
