1.3park free of charge in public parking facilities; amending Minnesota Statutes
1.42010, section 16B.58, by adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 16B.58, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8 Subd. 9. Parking charge exemption for vehicles bearing certain special plates.
1.9An operator of a passenger automobile, recreational motor vehicle, or one-ton pickup
1.10truck bearing special plates, or a motorcycle bearing a single special plate, must not be
1.11required to pay a rent, charge, or fee to park the vehicle in a visitor metered parking space
1.12in a parking lot or ramp that is administered by the Department of Administration within
1.13the boundary of the Capitol area as defined in section 15B.02 when visiting the Capitol
1.14area. A special plate is subject to the exemption in this subdivision if it is issued under
1.15section 168.12, subdivision 2c or 2d; 168.123; 168.124; 168.125; 168.1253; or 168.1255.
1.16This exemption does not apply to metered parking on public streets.
