1.2relating to veterans; appropriating money for a grant to the Minnesota Assistance
1.3Council for Veterans for continued outreach to homeless veterans in Minnesota.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.6$250,000 in fiscal year 2012 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2013 are appropriated from
1.7the general fund to the commissioner of veterans affairs for a grant to the Minnesota
1.8Assistance Council for Veterans to provide assistance throughout Minnesota to veterans
1.9and their families who are homeless or in danger of homelessness, including housing,
1.10utility, employment, and legal assistance, according to guidelines established by the
1.11commissioner. In order to avoid duplication of services, the commissioner must ensure
1.12that this assistance will be coordinated with all other available programs for veterans.
