1.2relating to state government; reimbursing certain state employees for insurance

1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. REIMBURSEMENT TO CERTAIN EMPLOYEES DENIED
1.6COVERAGE.
1.7If any participant in the state employees group insurance program was denied
1.8dependant coverage pursuant to an audit conducted under Laws 2011, First Special
1.9Session chapter 10, article 3, section 40, the commissioner of management and budget
1.10must prove that a certified letter denying eligibility was delivered to the participant. If the
1.11commissioner cannot prove delivery of the certified letter, upon application of a participant
1.12whose dependent coverage was reinstated, the commissioner shall reimburse the participant
1.13for the cost of other insurance purchased by the participant during the period of denial.
