1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 160.02, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8 Subd. 20a. Managed lane. "Managed lane" means a priced dynamic shoulder lane,
1.9high-occupancy vehicle lane, high-occupancy toll lane, or highway lane that is part of a
1.10toll facility, as defined in section 160.84, subdivision 9.
1.11 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 160.93, is amended by adding a subdivision
1.12to read:
1.13 Subd. 6. Continuous system on Interstate 494. (a) For purposes of this
1.14subdivision, "western I-494 segment" means that portion of Route No. 393, signed as
1.15Interstate Highway 494 on the effective date of this section, from the interchange with
1.16Route No. 392, signed as Interstate Highway 94 on the effective date of this section, in the
1.17city of Maple Grove, to the interchange with Route No. 390, signed as Interstate Highway
1.1835E on the effective date of this section.
1.19(b) The commissioner may not construct, convert, or establish a managed lane
1.20on any portion of the western I-494 segment, unless the managed lane is constructed,
1.21converted, or established for the entire western I-494 segment.
