1.2relating to transportation; requiring commissioner of transportation to make a
1.3decision on alternative route for State Highway 53.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE ELECTION FOR HIGHWAY 53.
1.6By March 15, 2015, the commissioner of transportation, in consultation with the
1.7commissioner of natural resources and Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company or its successor,
1.8shall designate a route for that portion of marked Trunk Highway 53 in St. Louis County
1.9near the city of Virginia by electing either the route designated as "Alt. M-1" or the route
1.10designated as "Alt. M-2." Construction must begin no later than June 1, 2015.
