1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to higher education; requiring the Board of Trustees of MnSCU to
1.3implement a policy on credit transfers; requiring a report to the legislature.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. COLLEGE CREDIT; ANOKA STEP PROGRAM.
1.6By March 15, 2012, the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and
1.7Universities (MnSCU) must implement a policy that requires college credits awarded
1.8to students through the Anoka STEP program in conjunction with Anoka-Hennepin
1.9Technical College to be transferrable as college credits to all state colleges within MnSCU.
1.10The board must evaluate the treatment and transferability of credits earned through similar
1.11tech prep or 2+2 programs offered through the colleges of MnSCU and the board must
1.12consider a policy to facilitate the acceptance at all colleges within MnSCU of credits
1.13earned by students through these programs at one of the colleges. The board must report
1.14on the credit acceptance and transfer policy to the committees of the legislature that have
1.15jurisdiction over higher education finance by March 15, 2012.
