1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to state lands; authorizing private sale of tax-forfeited land.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.4    Section 1. PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND; PINE COUNTY.
1.5(a) Notwithstanding the public sale provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, or
1.6other law to the contrary and upon completion of a land exchange, Pine County may sell
1.7by private sale the tax-forfeited land described in paragraph (c).
1.8(b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the attorney general. The attorney
1.9general may make changes to the land description to correct errors and ensure accuracy.
1.10(c) The land to be sold is located in Pine County and is described as: that part of the
1.11Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 11, Township 42 North, Range 17
1.12West, Wilma Township, Pine County, Minnesota which lies East of the centerline of as
1.13built Schmedeke Lane, said centerline hereinafter called Line "A". Description of Line
1.14"A": Assuming that the south line of the said Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter
1.15of Section 11 to bear North 89 degrees 00 minutes 28 seconds West and commencing at
1.16the southeast corner of said Section 11; thence North 89 degrees 00 minutes 28 seconds
1.17West, along the south line of said Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section
1.1811, a distance of 57.10 U.S. survey feet to the point of beginning of said centerline of as
1.19built Schmedeke Lane; thence North 02 degrees 28 minutes 18 seconds West, a distance
1.20of 927.30 U.S. survey feet; thence North 03 degrees 56 minutes 22 seconds West, a
1.21distance of 316.10 U.S. survey feet; thence North 01 degrees 31 minutes 43 seconds East,
1.22a distance of 96.18 U.S. survey feet to the north line of said Southeast Quarter of the
1.23Southeast Quarter of Section 11 and Line "A" there terminating. Subject to an easement
1.24for Pine County Road Number 141. Said easement lies South of a line run parallel with
2.1and 33.00 feet North of the south line of said Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter
2.2of Section 11. The sideline of said easement is to be prolonged or shortened to terminate
2.3on the east line of said Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 11. Subject
2.4to an easement for as built Schmedeke Lane. Said easement lies West of a line run parallel
2.5with and 16.50 feet East of said centerline called Line "A". The sideline of said easement
2.6is to be prolonged or shortened to terminate on the north line of said Southeast Quarter of
2.7the Southeast Quarter of Section 11.
2.8(d) The county has determined that the county's land management interests would
2.9best be served if the land was returned to private ownership.
