1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to alcohol; allowing wine tasting and wine sales at annual festivals;
1.3amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 340A.418, by adding a subdivision.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 340A.418, is amended by adding a
1.6subdivision to read:
1.7    Subd. 3. Wine festivals. The commissioner shall issue a license, at a price
1.8established to offset costs, for an annual festival to be conducted by an organization
1.9certified by the commissioner as representing Minnesota's grape growers. The license
1.10shall allow wine tasting, sales of wine by the glass, and sales of wine by the bottle to
1.11patrons exiting the festival. The festival allowed by this license shall take place on no
1.12more than five consecutive days. A license issued under this subdivision shall be subject
1.13to all other Minnesota laws pertaining to alcohol.
1.14EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
