1.2relating to the city of Clearwater; modifying local sales tax provisions;amending
1.3Laws 2008, chapter 366, article 7, section 19, subdivision 3.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Laws 2008, chapter 366, article 7, section 19, subdivision 3, is amended to
1.6read:
1.7 Subd. 3. Use of revenues. Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 297A.99,
1.8subdivision 3, paragraph (b), the proceeds of the tax imposed under this section shall be
1.9used to pay for the costs of acquisition, construction, improvement, and development of
1.10a regional parks, bicycle trails, park land, open space, and pedestrian bridge walkways,
1.11as described in the city improvement plan adopted by the city council by resolution on
1.12December 12, 2006, and land and buildings for a community and recreation center. The
1.13total amount of revenues from the taxes in subdivisions 1 and 2 that may be used to fund
1.14these projects is $12,000,000 plus any associated bond costs.
1.15EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day after compliance by the
1.16governing body of the city of Clearwater with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021,
1.17subdivisions 2 and 3.
