1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to education; clarifying expectations for complying with Minnesota's
1.3policy prohibiting intimidation and bullying;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012,
1.4section 121A.0695.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 121A.0695, is amended to read:
1.7121A.0695 SCHOOL BOARD POLICY; PROHIBITING INTIMIDATION
1.8AND BULLYING.
1.9(a) Each school board shall adopt a written policy prohibiting intimidation and
1.10bullying of any student. The policy shall address intimidation and bullying in all forms,
1.11including, but not limited to, electronic forms and forms involving Internet use.
1.12(b) A school board that adopts and implements the Minnesota School Boards
1.13Association model policy 514 on prohibiting bullying and model policy 524 on acceptable
1.14Internet use and safety satisfies the requirements of this section.
1.15EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
