1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to capital improvements; appropriating money for the Turtle Creek flood
1.3mitigation project in the city of Austin; authorizing the sale and issuance of
1.4state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.7$3,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of
1.8natural resources for a flood hazard mitigation grant to the city of Austin for publicly
1.9owned capital improvements to prevent or alleviate flood damage under Minnesota
1.10Statutes, section 103F.161. This appropriation may be used for predesign, design, and
1.11construction in the Turtle Creek project area for structural work and acquisition of real
1.12property.

1.13    Sec. 2. BOND SALE.
1.14To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond proceeds fund, the
1.15commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an
1.16amount up to $3,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by
1.17Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution,
1.18article XI, sections 4 to 7.

1.19    Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.
1.20This act is effective the day following final enactment.
