1.2relating to taxation; property; increasing the limitation on abatements for the
1.3city of Jackson.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. CITY OF JACKSON; LIMITATION ON ABATEMENTS.
1.6Notwithstanding the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, section 469.1813, subdivision
1.78, or any other law to the contrary, the total amount of property taxes abated by the city
1.8of Jackson in any year may not exceed the greater of (1) ten percent of the city's net tax
1.9capacity for the taxes payable year to which the abatement applies; or (2) $300,000.
1.10EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective for taxes payable in 2015 through
1.11taxes payable in 2025.
