1.2relating to taxation; modifying the use of local sales tax revenues for the city of
1.3Clearwater;amending Laws 2008, chapter 366, article 7, section 19, subdivision
1.43, as amended.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Laws 2008, chapter 366, article 7, section 19, subdivision 3, as amended by
1.7Laws 2011, First Special Session chapter 7, article 4, section 8, is amended to read:
1.8 Subd. 3. Use of revenues. Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section297A.99,
1.9subdivision 3 , paragraph (b), the proceeds of the tax imposed under this section shall be
1.10used to pay for the costs of improvements to the Sportsman Park/Ballfields, Riverside
1.11Park, Lions Park/Pavilion, Cedar South Park also known as Eldorado Park, and Spring
1.12Street Park; improvements to and extension of the River County bike trail; acquisition,
1.13and construction, improvement, and development of regional parks, bicycle trails, park
1.14land, open space, and of a pedestrian walkways, as described in the city improvement plan
1.15adopted by the city council by resolution on December 12, 2006, and walkway over
1.16Interstate 94 and State Highway 24; and the acquisition of land and construction of
1.17buildings for a community and recreation center. The total amount of revenues from the
1.18taxes in subdivisions 1 and 2 that may be used to fund these projects is $12,000,000
1.19plus any associated bond costs.
1.20EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day after compliance by the
1.21governing body of the city of Clearwater with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021,
1.22subdivisions 2 and 3.
