1.2relating to metropolitan government; requiring proportional distribution by
1.3Metropolitan Council of any transit reductions;amending Minnesota Statutes
1.42010, section 473.375, by adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 473.375, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8 Subd. 19. Reductions in services or assistance; apportionment. When a
1.9metropolitan transit budget, levy, or appropriation is decreased, and when that decrease
1.10reduces transit services or assistance to local units of government under sections 473.371
1.11and 473.449, the Metropolitan Council must apportion the reduction among local units
1.12of government. Each recipient's share of the reduction must be in proportion to that
1.13recipient's share of total metropolitan transit services and assistance to local units of
1.14government immediately before the reduction.
