1.2relating to education; permitting a September 1 school start date for the
1.32015-2016 school year only.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. SCHOOL START DATE FOR THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR ONLY.
1.6Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 120A.40, or other law to the contrary,
1.7for the 2015-2016 school year only, school districts may begin the school year on
1.8September 1 but must not schedule a student instruction day on the Thursday or Friday
1.9immediately preceding Labor Day.
1.10EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective for the 2015-2016 school year only.
