1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to public safety; providing for a fusion center to assist with detection,
1.3prevention, and investigation of, and response to, criminal and terrorist activities;
1.4proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 299C.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. [299C.148] MINNESOTA FUSION CENTER.
1.7(a) As used in this section, "fusion center" means the state government entity
1.8assigned to collect, integrate, evaluate, analyze, and disseminate data and information.
1.9(b) The superintendent may operate a fusion center. By cooperating with state and
1.10local government entities, federal agencies, fusion centers in other states, and the part of
1.11the private sector that provides critical infrastructure as that term is defined in United
1.12States Code, title 42, section 5195C(e), the fusion center will assist in the detection,
1.13prevention, and investigation of, and response to, criminal and terrorist activities.
