1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to capital investment; appropriating money for asset preservation, exhibit
1.3renewal, and master plan design and implementation at the Minnesota Zoo;
1.4authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. MINNESOTA ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS.
1.7    Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $15,000,000 is appropriated from the bond
1.8proceeds fund to the Minnesota Zoological Garden Board for capital asset preservation
1.9improvements and betterments to infrastructure and exhibits at the Minnesota Zoo.
1.10    Subd. 2. Appropriation. $5,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund
1.11to the Minnesota Zoological Garden Board for design and implementation of projects in
1.12the facilities master plan.
1.13    Subd. 3. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the
1.14bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.15bonds of the state in an amount up to $20,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.16the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.17Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.18EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
