1.2relating to human services; appropriating money for grants to recovery school
1.3programs.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. RECOVERY SCHOOL PROGRAMS.
1.6(a) $400,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2015 from the consolidated chemical
1.7dependency treatment fund to the commissioner of human services for grants to qualifying
1.8recovery school programs. The commissioner may award a grant of up to $100,000 to the
1.9fiscal agent for each qualifying recovery school program for the purpose of paying salaries
1.10for licensed chemical dependency counselors. A qualifying recovery school program may
1.11apply for a grant in the manner and form determined by the commissioner of human
1.12services. The base budget for each qualifying school is $100,000.
1.13(b) For purposes of this section, "qualifying recovery school program" means an
1.14academic setting designed to meet graduation requirements that provides assistance
1.15with recovery and continuing care to students who are recovering from substance abuse
1.16or dependence.
