1.2relating to transportation; governing process for driver's license and Minnesota
1.3identification card applications;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section
1.4171.06, by adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 171.06, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8 Subd. 7. Application and payment process. The commissioner shall establish a
1.9process of application for a driver's license or Minnesota identification card by which
1.10the applicant may:
1.11(1) submit application forms and payment through a Web site authorized by the
1.12Department of Public Safety; and
1.13(2) perform application requirements that require physical presence in person at an
1.14office of the department or a driver's license agent.
1.15EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment
1.16and applies to applications submitted on or after January 1, 2015.
