1.4Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 97A.137, by adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 97A.137, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8 Subd. 6. Portable stand or blind for elderly or disabled. (a) A physically disabled
1.9person or a person 65 years of age or older may erect and leave one portable stand or one
1.10portable blind in a wildlife management area. The person may erect the stand or blind
1.11up to seven days prior to the start of the deer hunting season for which the stand is being
1.12erected and must remove the stand or blind no later than the day after the end of the deer
1.13hunting season for which it was erected. The stand or blind must not permanently damage
1.14trees or other vegetation, and only clamp-on or strap-on stands are allowed.
1.15(b) Any person leaving a stand or blind under this subdivision must affix a tag with:
1.16(1) the person's name and address;
1.17(2) the person's driver's license number; or
1.18(3) the "MDNR#" license identification number issued to the person.
1.19The tag must be affixed to the stand or blind in a manner that it can be read from the ground.
1.20(c) For purposes of this subdivision, "physically disabled person" means a hunter
1.21who has a verified statement of physical disability from a licensed physician or a certified
1.22nurse practitioner or certified physician assistant acting under the direction of a licensed
1.23physician.
