1.2relating to state government; providing that certain councils do not expire under
1.3the Minnesota Sunset Act;amending Minnesota Statutes 2011 Supplement,
1.4section 3D.21, subdivisions 1, 2.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2011 Supplement, section 3D.21, subdivision 1, is
1.7amended to read:
1.8 Subdivision 1. Group 1. The following agencies are sunset and, except as provided
1.9in section3D.14 , expire on June 30, 2012: Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board,
1.10Amateur Sports Commission, Combative Sports Commission, all health-related licensing
1.11boards listed in section214.01 , Council on Affairs of Chicano/Latino People, Council
1.12on Black Minnesotans, Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans, Indian Affairs Council,
1.13Council on Disabilities, and all advisory groups associated with these agencies.
1.14EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
1.15 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2011 Supplement, section 3D.21, subdivision 2, is amended
1.16to read:
1.17 Subd. 2. Group 2. The following agencies are sunset and, except as provided in
1.18section3D.14 , expire on June 30, 2014: Department of Health, Department of Human
1.19Services, Department of Human Rights, Department of Education, Board of Teaching,
1.20Minnesota Office of Higher Education, the Council on Black Minnesotans, and all
1.21advisory groups associated with these agencies.
1.22 Sec. 3. COUNCIL ON BLACK MINNESOTANS.
2.1The Council on Black Minnesotans is continued for two years and is added to the
2.2Group 2 sunset review under Minnesota Statutes, section 3D.21, subdivision 2. The Office
2.3of the Legislative Auditor shall conduct a financial audit of the council in 2013 prior to the
2.4council's next review by the Sunset Advisory Commission in 2014.
