1.2relating to transportation; highways; establishing requirements concerning
1.3completion of construction projects on marked Trunk Highway 14.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. MARKED TRUNK HIGHWAY 14 PROJECTS.
1.6(a) The commissioner of transportation shall include in the next update of the state
1.7highway investment plan projects for the construction or reconstruction of marked Trunk
1.8Highway 14 as follows:
1.9(1) as a four-lane divided highway from the interchange with marked Trunk
1.10Highway 218 near the city of Owatonna to the point near the city of Dodge Center
1.11at which marked Trunk Highway 14 constitutes a four-lane divided highway, located
1.12southeast of the intersection with marked Trunk Highway 56;
1.13(2) as a four-lane divided highway from the city of New Ulm to the intersection with
1.14Nicollet County State-Aid Highway 6, located west of the city of North Mankato; and
1.15(3) reconstruction of the interchanges between marked Trunk Highway 14 and:
1.16marked Trunk Highway 15; County State-Aid Highway 42; and marked Trunk Highway
1.17169.
1.18 (b) The marked Trunk Highway 14 projects in paragraph (a) must remain in the
1.19state highway investment plan until they are completed. They may not be delayed from
1.20their initial date of scheduled commencement unless the commissioner notifies the chairs
1.21and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction over
1.22transportation policy and finance of special unforeseen circumstances.
