1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to human services; modifying provisions governing ombudspersons
1.3for families; modifying an appropriation;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012,
1.4section 257.0755, by adding a subdivision; Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement,
1.5section 257.0755, subdivision 3; Laws 2013, chapter 108, article 14, section 8.
1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.7    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement, section 257.0755, subdivision 3,
1.8is amended to read:
1.9    Subd. 3. Appropriation. Money appropriated for Each ombudsperson shall receive
1.10an individual appropriation from the general fund or the special fund authorized by section
1.11256.01, subdivision 2 , paragraph (o), is. The funds received are under the control of each
1.12ombudsperson for which it is they are appropriated.
1.13EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2014.

1.14    Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 257.0755, is amended by adding a subdivision
1.15to read:
1.16    Subd. 4. Offices. The Indian Affairs Council, the Council on Affairs of
1.17Chicano/Latino People, the Council on Black Minnesotans, and the Council on
1.18Asian-Pacific Minnesotans may designate the office location for the ombudsperson
1.19appointed by that community-specific board.

1.20    Sec. 3. Laws 2013, chapter 108, article 14, section 8, is amended to read:

2.1$83,500 in fiscal year 2015 must be
2.2transferred to each ombudsperson appointed
2.3by each of the community-specific boards
2.4under Minnesota Statutes, section 257.0755.
2.5An equal portion of the funds carried forward
2.6from the 2014 appropriation must also be
2.7transferred to each ombudsperson.
2.8EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2014.
