1.2relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the Northeast Higher
1.3Education District; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. NORTHEAST HIGHER EDUCATION DISTRICT; RENOVATION
1.6OF SCIENCE LABS AND CLASSROOMS, BIOMASS HEATING SYSTEM, AND
1.7DESIGN FOR CAMPUS RIGHTSIZING.
1.8 Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $3,344,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.9fund to the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for
1.10renovation of classroom and lab spaces at Itasca Community College, Rainy River
1.11Community College, and Vermilion Community College; installation of biomass heating
1.12system at Itasca Community College; and design for campus rightsizing at Hibbing
1.13Community College.
1.14 Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the
1.15bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.16bonds of the state in an amount up to $3,344,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.17the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.18Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.19EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
