An act
relating to state government; requiring state appointing authorities to use the federal E-Verify program;proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 43A.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. [43A.145] E-VERIFY.
Appointing authorities in the legislative, executive, and judicial branches must
verify the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees using the federal E-Verify
program. The commissioner must oversee training for executive branch appointing
authorities on the use of E-Verify, and must conduct periodic audits of executive branch
appointing authorities to ensure compliance with this section.
