1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. LEAD BY EXAMPLE ACT.
1.7 Subdivision 1. Citation. This section may be cited as the Lead By Example Act.
1.8 Subd. 2. Salary and per diem reductions for legislators and state government
1.9officials. The salaries of legislators, the governor, the lieutenant governor, the state
1.10auditor, the secretary of state, and the attorney general are reduced by five percent. The
1.11daily rate for per diem payments made to legislators is reduced by 15 percent.
1.12EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective at the start of the first payroll period
1.13beginning after the date of final enactment.
