1.2relating to taxation; providing for reimbursement to taxing jurisdictions for
1.3certain property tax disaster abatements; appropriating money.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. REIMBURSEMENT FOR PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENTS.
1.6The commissioner of revenue shall reimburse taxing jurisdictions for property tax
1.7abatements granted in Hennepin County under Laws 2011, First Special Session chapter
1.87, article 5, section 13, notwithstanding the time limits contained in that section. The
1.9reimbursements must be made to each taxing jurisdiction pursuant to the certification
1.10of the Hennepin County auditor.
1.11 Sec. 2. APPROPRIATION.
1.12The amount necessary, not to exceed $400,000, is appropriated to the commissioner
1.13of revenue from the general fund to make the payments required under section 1. This
1.14appropriation does not cancel but is available until June 30, 2014.
1.15 Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.
1.16Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final enactment.
