1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. [124D.165] EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS.
1.7 Subdivision 1. Definition. For purposes of this section, "early childhood scholarship
1.8funds" means appropriations to the commissioner for the scholarship program first
1.9established under Laws 2011, First Special Session chapter 11, article 7, section 2,
1.10subdivision 8.
1.11 Subd. 2. Allocation of funds; diverse cultural programming. The commissioner
1.12shall annually allocate a portion of early childhood scholarship funds solely for use in
1.13early childhood education programs that:
1.14(1) provide early learning experiences in a bicultural, bilingual, or other culturally
1.15diverse programming environment; and
1.16(2) are participating in the quality rating and improvement system under section
1.17124D.142.
1.18EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2013.
1.19 Sec. 2. APPROPRIATION; EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
1.20SCHOLARSHIPS.
