1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to economic development; requiring domestic materials as a condition of
1.3using public funds for infrastructure in certain cases.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. LIMITATION TO ITASCA COUNTY INFRASTRUCTURE
1.6EXPENDITURES IN SUPPORT OF STEEL PLANT.
1.7No unexpended appropriations, to include unspent portions of grants to Itasca
1.8County, that were intended for public infrastructure needed to support a steel plant in
1.9Itasca County may be expended unless the steel plant enters into a written agreement with
1.10Itasca County that, as a condition of expending state money on supporting infrastructure
1.11projects, requires all iron, steel, or manufactured products used by the steel plant in
1.12constructing, altering, maintaining, or repairing the steel plant have 100 percent United
1.13States content and be 100 percent United States manufactured.
1.14EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
