1.2relating to historic preservation; recognizing the Coldwater Springs area as a
1.3property eligible for traditional cultural property designation.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. RECOGNITION OF COLDWATER SPRINGS AS A TRADITIONAL
1.6CULTURAL PROPERTY.
1.7The state recognizes the traditional, cultural, and historic importance of Coldwater
1.8Springs in Hennepin County. The state shall work with its federal partners and the
1.9Dakota people and other interested parties, through the state historic preservation office
1.10and other state and local entities, to ensure that the Coldwater Springs area, currently
1.11listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is designated as a traditional cultural
1.12property. Until the Coldwater Springs area is designated as a traditional cultural property,
1.13state actions impacting the area shall be in compliance with actions affecting traditional
1.14cultural properties.
