1.2relating to veterans; appropriating money for a grant to the Minnesota Assistance
1.3Council for Veterans for continued outreach to homeless veterans and those in
1.4danger of homelessness in Minnesota.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.7$250,000 in fiscal year 2014 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2015 are appropriated from
1.8the general fund to the commissioner of veterans affairs for a grant to the Minnesota
1.9Assistance Council for Veterans to provide assistance throughout Minnesota to veterans
1.10and their families who are homeless or in danger of homelessness, including assistance
1.11with the following: (1) utilities; (2) employment; and (3) legal issues. The assistance
1.12authorized under this section must be made according to guidelines established by the
1.13commissioner. In order to avoid duplication of services, the commissioner must ensure
1.14that this assistance is coordinated with all other available programs for veterans.
