1.2relating to motor vehicles; requiring registration renewal notice for E85-capable
1.3vehicle to inform its owner; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
1.4chapter 168.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. [168.115] NOTICE TO OWNERS OF E85 VEHICLES.
1.7(a) When sending a notification of renewal of registration for a motor vehicle capable
1.8of using E85, as defined in section 296A.01, subdivision 19, the commissioner of public
1.9safety shall inform the owner of that fact and include a list of all service stations that provide
1.10E85 within the zip code area of the owner's mailing address and contiguous zip code areas.
1.11(b) The commissioner may accept donations, grants, and other funds to carry out
1.12the requirements in paragraph (a). All donations, grants, and other funds received under
1.13this paragraph shall be deposited in the vehicle services operating account in the special
1.14revenue fund.
