1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to railroads; requiring counseling for railroad employees following train
1.3accidents;proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 219.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. [219.635] EMPLOYEE COUNSELING FOLLOWING ACCIDENT.
1.6When a Class One or Class Two common rail carrier train or track vehicle strikes, or
1.7is struck by, a pedestrian, motor vehicle, or other implement, that carrier shall provide
1.8appropriate counseling service to an employee, upon request from that employee or the
1.9employee's representative, without expense to that employee. The counseling service must
1.10be provided by an independent, third-party, and accredited counseling agency.
