1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO ARENA IMPROVEMENTS AND
1.7EVENTS CENTER AUDITORIUM/CONVENTION EXPANSION.
1.8 Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $14,500,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.9fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the
1.10city of Mankato to design, construct, improve, furnish, and equip the Minnesota State
1.11Mankato Arena and to design, expand, furnish and equip the adjacent Events Center
1.12Auditorium. This appropriation is not available until the commissioner has determined
1.13that at least an equal amount has been committed to the project from nonstate sources.
1.14 Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the
1.15bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.16bonds of the state in an amount up to $14,500,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.17the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.18Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.19EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
