SENATE BILL No. 1191

 

 

November 8, 2018, Introduced by Senator HILDENBRAND and referred to the Committee on Natural Resources.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1947 PA 359, entitled

 

"The charter township act,"

 

by amending section 1b (MCL 42.1b), as added by 2011 PA 137.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 1b. (1) Beginning on the effective date of the amendatory

 

act that added this section, September 13, 2011, a charter township

 

shall not adopt an ordinance that includes any a minimum staffing

 

requirement for charter township employees. Except as otherwise

 

provided in this section, any A provision in an ordinance adopted

 

on or after the effective date of the amendatory act that added

 

this section September 13, 2011 that contains a minimum staffing

 

requirement for charter township employees is void and

 

unenforceable.

 


     (2) This act is subject to the vegetation removal preemption

 

act.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.

 

     Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless Senate Bill No. 1188                                   

 

            of the 99th Legislature is enacted into law.
