A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled
"The Michigan penal code,"
by amending section 505 (MCL 750.505).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
505. (1) Any Except
as provided in subsection (2), a
person
who shall commit any commits
an indictable offense at the
common
law, for the punishment of which no provision is not
expressly
made by any statute of this state, shall be is guilty
of
a
felony , punishable
by imprisonment in the state prison for not
more than 5 years or by a fine of not more than $10,000.00, or
both. in
the discretion of the court.
(2) A person who commits an offense described in subsection
(1) that causes a bodily injury to another person requiring medical
attention or medical care is guilty of a felony punishable by
imprisonment for not more than 10 years or a fine of not more than
$25,000.00, or both.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
