SENATE BILL No. 432
July 1, 2015, Introduced by Senator CASPERSON and referred to the Committee on Transportation.
A bill to amend 1945 PA 327, entitled
"Aeronautics code of the state of Michigan,"
(MCL 259.1 to 259.208) by adding section 96.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 96. (1) An individual who is operating a drone shall not
fly the drone to within 1,000 feet of the Mackinac Bridge.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to an individual who is an
employee or agent of the Mackinac Bridge authority who is acting
within the scope of his or her employment or agency and flying the
drone for any of the following purposes:
(a) An engineering inspection.
(b) Security.
(c) Marketing.
(3) An individual who violates this section is guilty of a
misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 93 days or
a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect
unless Senate Bill No. 433
of the 98th Legislature is enacted into law.
