SENATE BILL No. 413

A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled
"Michigan vehicle code,"
(MCL 257.1 to 257.923) by adding section 805a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 805a. (1) The secretary of state shall not issue or renew
a registration for a motor vehicle unless, in addition to the taxes
provided for under section 801, the applicant pays an amount for
the state average premium or state average premium for historical
vehicles, as applicable, as calculated by the catastrophic claims
association under section 3104(7)(d) of the insurance code of 1956,
1956 PA 218, MCL 500.3104.
(2) The secretary of state shall pay the money it collects
under this section to the catastrophic claims association as
provided in the plan of operation of the association.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect
unless Senate Bill No. 412
of the 98th Legislature is enacted into law.
