SENATE BILL No. 342

 

 

March 5, 2009, Introduced by Senators VAN WOERKOM, PAPPAGEORGE and GILBERT and referred to the Committee on Transportation.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1963 PA 181, entitled

 

"Motor carrier safety act of 1963,"

 

(MCL 480.11 to 480.25) by adding section 7e.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 7e. All liquid transport tankers subject to this act that

 

carry hazardous materials that are liquids shall be equipped with a

 

standardized no-spill emergency access port to be located in the

 

covered dome area to provide safe access for removal of the fuel if

 

access to the normal off-loading valves is not available.
