A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 7113a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 7113a. By January 1, 2018, the prescription drug and
opioid abuse commission established by Executive Order No. 2016-15
shall develop or adopt, and make available to the department of
education, recommendations for the instruction of pupils on
prescription opioid drug abuse. The recommendations required under
this section must include, but are not limited to, recommendations
for instruction on the prescription drug epidemic and the
connection between prescription opioid drug abuse and addiction to
other drugs.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect
unless Senate Bill No. 237
of the 99th Legislature is enacted into law.
