SENATE BILL No. 131

 

 

January 28, 2009, Introduced by Senators BROWN, RICHARDVILLE, BIRKHOLZ, PAPPAGEORGE, JANSEN and JACOBS and referred to the Committee on Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 2006 PA 384, entitled

 

"Driver education provider and instructor act,"

 

(MCL 256.621 to 256.705) by adding section 42.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 42. (1) A driver education course offered under this act

 

shall include information prescribed by the department regarding

 

the importance of recycling and opportunities to support statewide

 

recycling efforts. The course shall also contain an antilitter

 

message.

 

     (2) The department shall consult with the recycling

 

coordinator of the department of environmental quality and the

 

recycling advisory council to create standards for a program

 

described in subsection (1).
