A bill to amend 1968 PA 330, entitled
"Private security business and security alarm act,"
by amending section 33 (MCL 338.1083), as amended by 2000 PA 411.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 33. (1) A security alarm system may not be installed or
operated in this state unless the security alarm system is either
installed by a security alarm system contractor licensed under this
act or is installed by the owner or occupant of a residence in his
or her residence.
(2) A security alarm system contractor shall not install bars
on any window unless the bars come equipped with an inside-escape
latch or other mechanism designed to allow a person to exit the
window.
