A bill to amend 1979 PA 152, entitled
"State license fee act,"
by amending section 4 (MCL 338.2204), as added by 2014 PA 127.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 4. (1) The
department shall waive the fee for an initial license or initial registration
that is otherwise required under this act, or an application processing fee
charged by the department for an initial license or initial registration, if
the applicant is an meets
either of the following requirements:
(a)
Is an individual who served in the armed
forces Armed Forces and
he or she provides to the department a form DD214, form DD215, or any other
form that is satisfactory to the department that demonstrates he or she was
separated from that service with an honorable character of service or under
honorable conditions (general) character of service.
(b)
Is a dependent of either a member of the Armed Forces who is on active duty or a
veteran and he or she provides proof acceptable to the department that he or
she is a dependent as described in this subdivision.
(2) As used in this section:
, "armed forces"
(a)
"Armed Forces" means that term as defined in section 2 of the veteran right to employment
services act, 1994 PA 39, MCL 35.1092.section
103 of the occupational code, MCL 339.103.
(b) "Dependent" means that term as defined in section 104 of the occupational code, MCL 339.104.
(c) "Veteran" means that term as defined in section 1 of 1965 PA 190, MCL 35.61.
Enacting section
1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into
law.
Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 6440 (request no. 06487'20) of the 100th Legislature is enacted into law.
