A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

"The revised school code,"

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1308e.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 1308e. (1) Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, the governing body of a public school or nonpublic school shall ensure that it develops or adopts and implements a school safety and security training plan that ensures that school resource officers assigned to the public school or nonpublic school, school safety or security personnel who work at or for the public school or nonpublic school, and all school staff of the public school or nonpublic school complete the training described in section 1308f.

(2) As used in this section, "governing body" means the board of a school district, an intermediate school board, the board of directors of a public school academy, or the governing body of a nonpublic school.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 6322 (request no. 06541'22) of the 101st Legislature is enacted into law.
