HOUSE BILL No. 5903

 

September 13, 2012, Introduced by Reps. Agema, MacGregor, Lyons, Hooker, Yonker, Dillon, Roy Schmidt, Graves, Huuki and Tyler and referred to the Committee on Appropriations.

 

     A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled

 

"The social welfare act,"

 

(MCL 400.1 to 400.10e) by adding section 109k.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 109k. In order to develop a standardized payment program

 

for the care of individuals with developmental disabilities, the

 

department of community health shall adopt and implement a state-

 

wide standardized assessment tool to evaluate practical support

 

requirements of individuals with developmental disabilities, such

 

as the supports intensity scale (SIS) or a similar assessment tool

 

as determined by the department of community health through

 

research and verification.
