A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled
"Michigan election law,"
by amending section 761a (MCL 168.761a).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
761a. In cities or townships which that have established
absent
voter ballot counting boards, when if precinct delegates are
to be elected, the clerk, when forwarding absent voter ballots to
voters, may in
addition to the regular return envelope
, forward to
the absent voter a separate envelope for the return of the delegate
ballot. Delegate ballots shall be returned to the clerk by the
voter
in the special envelope in such case and the clerk shall
forward
the delegate ballots so returned to the proper precinct on
election
day. The precinct inspectors shall may tally such the
ballots
separately and add such the
totals to the precinct totals
as shown by the voting machines in completing their statements. The
secretary of state shall issue rules to implement this section.
